Ok, say you’re right Americans* and it’s not your (non-existant) gun laws that are a huge part of the problem. Would it at least hurt to attempt some sort of change to these laws? You know a trial period of banning them or something to see if** the number of gun related homicides decline.
I’ve yet to see a credible explanation as to why any member of the general public would need a gun so who is it going to harm to at least try change? Why are some of you so against banning guns? More to the point, why are teenage girls on Tumblr so against it? If you think you need a gun to feel safe then surely that tells you your country/society has a massive problem anyway?
We introduced 2 firearm acts after the Dunblane Primary School massacre in 1996 and it’s worked pretty well for us. There have been no school massacres in the UK since. At least try and contemplate learning from these tragedies. I think too many of you assume non-Americans are just jumping at the chance to have a go at you whereas I feel it’s more we just don’t want this to happen to you over and over again when there clearly are actions you could be taking to try to improve things. And if you make no effort to change stuff then obviously people are going to start criticising you when these things keep happening.
*Not all of you obviously.
** And by ‘if’ I really mean just ‘by how much’.
